Inspired by New Orleans’ famous above-ground cemeteries — our legendary Cities of the Dead — this candle blends earthy petrichor, wet stone, herbs, florals, and subtle smoke into a hauntingly beautiful fragrance that feels like walking between centuries-old tombs just after a Louisiana rainstorm.

Because of New Orleans’ high water table, the city became famous for its above-ground tombs and elaborate cemeteries. Over generations, these historic resting places became an unmistakable part of the landscape, history, and mystery of the city.

For over five years, Novel Nola has been dedicated to recycling every piece of glass we can get our hands on. Our glass storage facility has become overgrown as we’ve welcomed countless locals to drop off their glass, reusable packaging, and materials, fostering a community committed to sustainability. 

For this reason, we have decided to update our inventory to exclusively use upcycled vessels for our candles. These jars are donated to us by our local community and hand-cleaned by us!
